Менингококковая инфекция является очень важной проблемой в Украине. Потому как сейчас в нашей стране есть высокий уровень заболеваемости и летальности. В мире ежегодно регистрируется приблизительно 500 000 случаев МИ, при этом из них около 50 000 заканчивается летально.
Невзирая на то, что уровень заболеваемости на менингококковою инфекцию относительно невысокий по сравнению с другими инфекциями, летальность по мировым данным составляет приблизительно 10%. В Украине на сегодня летальность при менингококковой инфекции достигает 11%-17%. Основное количество неблагоприятных последствий при менингококковой инфекции приходится на менингококкемию.
Главными факторами тяжелых последствий при МИ есть несвоевременное, а так же неадекватное лечение инфекционно токсичного (септического) шока, неуправляемый рост внутричерепного давления и непрестанный прогресс полиорганной недостаточности, надпочечной недостаточности, респираторного дистрес-синдрома, острой почечной недостаточности, ДВЗ-синдрома. За исследованиями британских специалистов по МИ, агрессивная поддержка поздравительных функций при условии ее осуществления с первого часа заболевания еще на догоспитальном этапе способная понизить летальность при МИ до 2-3%.
